Blasting Equipments >> Dehumidifier
Type: EGM-XXX Series Dehumidifiers
have been manufactured using the specifications with revisitions
and in compliance with other relevant directives.
Introduction
Our Dehumidifiers have been developed especially for corrossion protection in connection with sandblasting and painting operations this dehumidifiers are designed for process dryairflows of 1,000 m³/h to 50,000 m³/h. It is a complete unit of desiccant rotor, drive motor with tranmission, heaters, fans, electrical panels and filters. Our dehumidifiers have been developed especially for corrossion protection in connection with sandblasting and painting operations, meeting the following conditions:

• Avaliable in sizes from 1.000m³/h to 50.000m³/h dry air.
• Avaliable in pre-cooled and after-cooled versions,
• Robust design with steelframe, eyebolts etc.
• Vital parts can easily be maintained and exchanged.
• Large air inlet grills and filters.
• Adjustable dehumidifying capacity and outlet air temperature.
• Outdoor and indoor use.
• Dry air pressure up to 1.000 Pa.
The heart of the dehumidifier is a very efficient and robust metal silicate rotor. The rotor contains a vast number of air channels, running parallel to the shaft, which ensures a large internal surface for adsorbing water vapour. The rotor is not affected by over saturation. Therefore, the ENDÜSTRÝ- GM dehumidifier’s rotor can resist long time storage at high humidity without loosing capacity.

Techical specifications for standard types:

S A F E T Y
Every case has been taken in the design and manufacture of EGM X.000 dehumidifiers to ensure that they meet the safety requirements. The individual operating or working on any machinery is primary
responsible for:
Correct utilization with the relevant procedures
Safety of the machinery and the personnel
This manual include suggested working procedures. These procedures are for guidance, they do not take precedence for the local safety regulations.

MISUSE OF EQUIPMENT

Any use of the equipment other than its intended use, or operation of the equipment contrary to the relevant procedures, could cause injury to the operator, or damage to the machinery.

P R I N C I P L E S

Dehumidifiers are designed for process dry-airflows of 1,000 m³/h to 50,000 m³/h. All functional components are robust design with frame, eyebolts and vital parts can easily be maintained and exchanged. Adjustable dehumidifying capacity and outlet air temperature ensures the optimum efficiency needed.

RO T O R

The heart of the humidifier is a very efficient and robust metal silicate rotor. The
rotor contains a vast number of air channels, running parallel to the shaft, which
ensures a large internal surface for adsorbing water vapor.
The rotor is not affected by over saturation. Therefore, the dehumidifier’s rotor can resist long time storage at high humidity
without loosing capacity.

CONSTRUCTION

The main components of the dehumidifier are:
The desiccant rotor with the driving units
For the reactivation air
Filter
Damper
Electrical Heater
Centrifugal Fan
For the process air
Filter
Centrifugal Fan
Electrical Control Panel
Electrical control panel is housed in a metal box mounted on the main casing
The reactivation and process air inlets are fitted with filters that are easily changed.
All the models are fitted with multi stage electric reactivation heaters.
All models require a three phase electric supply.

Control Panel
!!! CAUTION The doors of the electrical panel must be closed
Temperature Cut-Outs (Available at some models, others are manual setting)

The units are fitted with high temperature cut-outs which will stop the Dehumidifier if the temperature exceeds the unit design specification. The digital Temperature apparatus is installed to the machine inside the rotor case and has a digital display near the electrical panel as shown below. The display is 3 ½ digit, 13mm led.

To Set The Equipment
Push on the S button on the panel and with a screwdriver turn the trim pot to the needed value and release the S button when the value is stetted. The setted default value is 90°C.

DE L IVERY AND STORAGE
To ensure consistent quality and maximum reliability, each dehumidifier is inspected before leaving the factory. If the dehumidifier is to be put into storage, prior to installation, the following precautions should be observed:
. Each dehumidifier must be protected from physical damage.
. The dehumidifier must be stored under cover and protected from dust, frost and rain.

I N S P E C T I O N
Remove the transt packing and inspect the unit to ensure that no damage has occurred during transit. Any visible damage must be reported ,to prior to installation.

OPERATING/SHUTTING DOWN
To turn the units off under normal operating conditions:
EGM 3000: Set power switch to 0
EGM 5000: “ “ “
EGM 8000: “ “ “
Ensure that after approximately 3 minutes the fans have stopped.
To operate and shutting the system, follow the steps below.
(1) Check the heaters are at “0” position before start.
(2) Check whether the filters are clean and reliable.
(3) Check whether the ROTOR is turning or not.
(4) While moving the machine always switch off the machine.
(5) Never do blasting in front of the air inlet of the machine.
(6) Never do painting in front of the air inlet of the machine.
(7) Do not rub the electrical panel without any authorised staff.
(8) Do not move the machine without disconnecting the hoses.
(9) Do not place and burning materials or explosives in front of the air inlet.
(10) Always switch off the machine from the button on electrical panel, never use from main breaker arm.

M a i n t e n a n c e P r o c e d u r e s

EGM-X000 series dehumidifiers are designed to run for long periods with the minimum of attention and will normally require very little maintenance. The frequency of maintenance will be determined by operating conditions and the quality of the environment where the unit is being used. If the process air
has a high dust-loading the scheduled maintenance should be carried out at more frequent intervals. This can best be determined by your local EGM Service Engineer. However, in order to maintain reliable performance and prolong the service life of vital components, regular scheduled maintenance is recommended. Recommendations for periodic maintenance are given on the next page of this manual.
